About NeoEdge
NeoEdge has become the de facto technology leader in ad-enabling casual games. Through partnerships with Yahoo, Lycos and other major portals, we have been identified as the industry's leading technology provider. Each year, consumers worldwide spend over 90 billion hours playing casual games. In the U.S. alone, consumers spend over 30 billion hours on casual games, more than on all social networking or video sharing websites. The vast majority of these hours are un-monetized or under-monetized.
Efficiency is one key to developing a successful business model that takes casual game out of the backwater, where only a few generate significant revenue, and into the modern era where all game play is monetized. NeoEdge has developed the first efficient way to unlock the value in these tens of billions of hours of casual game play by inserting advertising, analytics, social networking and community features into games.
NeoEdge bridges the gap between game developer/distributor and portal or destination where most consumers find and play their favorite games. Prior to NeoEdge, game companies and portals had two choices:
- Try and buy model where games were made available for short periods of time, usually less than 30 minutes, whereby the consumer could try the game out. After the trial period, the consumer had the option to purchase the game – generally for $20. The industry purchase rate for games has generally hovered around .72%. A game would need hundreds of thousands of consumers trying the game with a small percentage buying to ever make money.
- The second option includes the try and buy model, but also provides revenue generating advertising during trials and after through ad supported game play. Technology outside of NeoEdge requires complex code integration and SDK's to create pre-roll ad inventory. This timely process is often cumbersome and not easy to scale over hundreds if not thousands of games.
NeoEdge solves each challenge created from the old business models. We have developed a proprietary technology that allows premium video and rich media advertising to be dynamically inserted into casual games. NeoEdge's solutions enable large format, high quality ads to be delivered before play (pre-roll), at natural break points between game levels (mid-roll or interstitials) and after game conclusion (post-roll). These premium ads, served without distraction, deliver proven ROI for advertisers – including click-through rates 16 times higher than typical banner ads. NeoEdge's model delivers measurable benefits for consumers, web portals, game publishers and advertisers. With over 11 million ad-supported games already installed and tens of millions of premium video ads served each month, NeoEdge has proven their technology and advertising sales leadership.
NeoEdge provides benefits to game developers, publishers, distributors and portals by providing the three core offerings:
Advertising Insertion Technology and Services
NeoEdge's proprietary advertising insertion technology and services allow game publishers and portals to offer and track new premium advertising inventory in both online and downloadable games. Our internal Game Factory can ad-enable casual games without source code involvement, processing most games in about an hour. Following game play, NeoEdge's analytic platform provides deep visibility into consumer usage and habits that are valued by advertisers. Our targeting and back-end metrics are industry leading.
Advertising Network
NeoEdge has built an advertising network of in-game premium video and rich media ad inventory. Ads are served using a number of targeting methodologies and include key features requested by advertisers, such as IAB standard ad units, third party verification of ads served, and brand-safe, family-friendly content.
Game Aggregation and Distribution
NeoEdge has built the largest (and only) catalog of fully advertising-supported casual games with over 50 game publisher partners and over 500 games. NeoEdge's catalog of games can all be played for free and with unlimited duration.
NeoEdge generates revenue through two main revenue streams: advertising sales and technology licensing fees. Secondary revenue comes from game sales and game processing fees.
